“It’s all about pressure coming up here,” Dunn said in his post-match interview.

“They’re a decent outfit; they’re gritty, physical, they get on top of you and try to bully you. You’ve got to match them and go toe-to-toe from the start. That’s where we got our rewards from.

“It’s about the system, all about staying in it and expressing yourself within it. That’s what I think we did.”

Amongst all the positives on a bitterly cold afternoon, Ruaridh McConnochie made his 50^th appearance for Bath while homegrown Senior Academy prop Arthur Cordwell came on for his Gallagher Premiership debut.

The two milestones form part of a wholesome memory for the squad with Dunn expressing his pride in fellow front rower Cordwell earning his opportunity.

“He deserves this,” he said of the youngster.

“He’s actually a very intelligent man – I think he’s doing Physics! He’s actually tough and really gritty. You often get front rowers who are weirdos and he’s 100% a weirdo!

“I’m very proud of him.”
