The game was deadlocked at 17-17 with eight minutes to play, but a try from Owen Dudman saw Beechen Cliff maintain their position at the top of the standings.

A win next week in their game against Bishop Burton College at Cheltenham RFC will secure a place in the final of the competition, which would be their last as a group before they head into the U18 season with Bath Rugby.

Bath Rugby’s Academy Manager, Andy Rock, said: “This is another fantastic experience for this group of players. To have seen them overcome different challenges from week to week and learn together is a really positive sign.
