On Bristol defeat

"We are bitterly disappointed. We come out of that game with a lot to be pleased about as well despite the result. We have to be more clinical. We had opportunities to win the game, we had more territory and more possession but credit to Bristol, they defended really well and they took their opportunities when they were there.

"We will learn from this and be better. We have to make sure that for the two moments that we nodded off defensively, that we don't do that again and learn from it. Then from an attack point of view, when we have the territory and the possession before half-time in their 22, we have to be coming away with more than three points from those situations."

On Exeter Chiefs

"Getting that momentum back is massively important. We have been good at home this season and to lose at the Rec is frustrating. Going away to Exeter is not going to be easy. They are top of the table, they have won eight games, we've won seven and we are four places below them.

"We have been getting prepared today for a shorter turn around. There will be lots of ball in play and they are physically tough in those games. We have to be careful on how we are managing the players this week. If we go down there and put the right contact in and the right detail then we are clear on the plan going in.

"They are a very good side and a tough side to beat at home. They are well coached and have good players. Whether they win or lose, I don't think it makes a difference to the way that they work.

"I think the Premiership race is wide open. There is five points between second and fifth. If Exeter lose this weekend and Sale win, then they go top. Its a really congested race at the top, Exeter have lost four games in the Gallagher Premiership."
