Nothing much could separate the two sides in the opening stages with Malins and Josh Lewis trading penalties, which gave Bath an early 6-3 lead.

It was Malins who put his side in front for the first time on the night diving across the line following some good work from the pack. 6-10

Bath were quick to respond after some great work from Darren Atkins. The fullback darted down the left wing, before sending a deft chip over the top. The Saracens defence were unable to gather the loose ball, and it was left to Craig Duncan, who pounced and put Bath back into the lead. 13-10

Bath were not in front for long as scrum-half Henry Taylor crossed the whitewash, which proved to be the turning point in the tie. As home side attempted to break spraying the ball from right to left, Saracens intercepted on the Bath 10m line and it was left to Nick Tompkins to add further points to the scoreboard. 13-24

Malins added another penalty to send his side into the interval with a 14-point lead.

Saracens were out of the blocks quickly in the second half and it was Malins, who was the architect of another sweeping move. The fly-half made the initial break through the Bath defence before the ball was recycled to Griffiths, who finished under the posts. 13-34

The next Saracens try was all about the forwards, as the pack made good use of the rolling maul with Christopher Tolofua the man to profit at the bottom of the pile. 13-39

Despite flurries into the Saracens 22 during the second-half, Bath were unable to make some of the pressure pay off in a clinical performance from the visitors.

However, Saracens made sure that their efforts were rewarded and it was captain Ben Earl, the next to score finishing well, under the posts. 13-46

Sean Reffell showed his power with ball in hand, as he bundled his way over the Bath defence. The ball was quickly sent from right to left to find winger Rotimi Segun, who crossed in the corner. 13-53

It was an evening to remember for Segun, as he made it a quick-fire double after being played in unselfishly by replacement Dom Morris to put a significant margin between the two teams. 13-58

With the game in added time, Saracens added one final score to round off an impressive performance at the Rec. It was left to Tadgh McElroy to add the final try, with Malins duly adding the extras, capping a fine individual display.
