England v ITALY

England welcomed an Italian side who were looking to put errors to right from their opening fixture against France. Italy came into this second round of the competition with a 28-game losing streak in the Guinness Six Nations. England however were looking to bounce back after an opening defeat to Scotland.

Italy opened the scoring with Monty Ioane dotting over for his first international try within 4 minutes. Although this was a shock to the England side it did not take long for the home team to react. Jonny Hill crashed over for the host's first try of the day and a sensational sidestep from winger Anthony Watson, left the Italian defence in shock as he dotted over unopposed.

A youthful Italian side kept knocking on the door however, this was met with continued aggressive England defence. The home side finished the first half on top with an acrobatic Jonny May try in the corner, where he managed to leap over the cover defence by scoring the third try of the half.

Italy came out the blocks fast, with immediate points on the board as Garbisi converted the first penalty of the second half. An enthusiastic Italian side started to string passes together however, this was short lived when Watson intercepted in his own 22 and ran the length of the pitch to get his second off the day, securing a bonus point.

A game which saw Anthony carry the ball 7 times and beating 6 defenders, he was able to total up a scintillating 142 metres. A great afternoon for the England wing which was sealed with a convincing 41-18 victory.

scotland v wales

After a close affair with Ireland in Round 1, Wales and Taulupe Faletau were looking to continue their winning form as they faced a confident Scotland team following their Calcutta Cup delight at Twickenham the previous week.

After a sensational debut International performance from Cameron Redpath, he was ruled out for this fixture with a neck injury. We look forward to seeing Cameron in a Scottish shirt again in this campaign.

The first half saw Scotland start where they left off at Twickenham, scoring two tries within the first 25 minutes as Darcy Graham and Stuart Hogg went over the whitewash. A late Welsh try from Louis Rees-Zammit meant the half score sat at 17-8 in favour of Scotland.

Early in the second half Scotland grew their lead as Gary Graham crashed over for Scotland's third, only for it to then be ruled out for an obstruction by Scott Cummings. Wales were able to build from this penalty, as they gained field position later leading to a Liam Williams try, closely followed by a Wyn Jones try; Wales took the lead 20-17.

A decisive moment in the match saw Zander Fagerson receive a red card for a shoulder to head at a breakdown. Wales were able to capitalise and pile on the pressure which inevitability saw the player of the match Rees-Zammit sprint down the wing and chipping the ball over covering player Hogg to score his second for the afternoon. Callum Sheedy unable to convert kept the score at 25-24 and this is how it stayed until the final whistle.

Going into Round three of the competition Wales will host England (27 February - 16:45GMT KO) at the Principality Stadium looking to keep their momentum and Grand Slam hopes alive. Whilst Scotland travel to France (28 February - 15:00GMT KO) looking to improve and take a win against a French side who remain unbeaten after victories over Italy and Ireland in the opening two rounds.
