Making his 29^th appearance for his country, second row Ewels started the match and one barnstorming carry in particular almost saw him creep over the whitewash.

He made 20 metres in total from 11 carries and operated superbly at the line-out as well as putting in six tackles.

Faletau made his international return at Number 8 and was one of Wales’ standout players. He carried 13 times, gained 29 metres whilst beating two defenders.

As Ewels departed in the 68^th minute, on came prop Will Stuart who completed an impressive nine tackles in the final 12 minutes.

Meanwhile at Under-20 level in the same fixture, Thompson Cowan earned another start at blindside flanker but his Wales side came unstuck against England, losing 43-14.

The Senior Academy back row made a game-high 17 tackles in another eye-catching personal defensive effort at international level.
