The Blue, Black and White scored six tries, with the hooker scoring his second try in as many games in the opening two minutes of the derby encounter.

Dunn said: “It was the five points we needed. It had been a while since we’ve felt this winning feeling, but to do it at Kingsholm was fantastic. They beat us at our place and we wanted to get our own back.”

“I don’t know where all these tries are coming from, but I’d like to make a habit of it.”

The 25-year-old dedicated the win to Matt Banahan and highlighted Tom Homer – who scored a sensational individual try – for his performance during the victory.

“With Banas (Matt Banahan) leaving and this being his last away game for us, it made the win even more special,” Dunn explained.

“Tom Homer was great. He’s got a lot of X-Factor. He showed everyone what he is capable of with that amazing try. It’s something we see him do in training and it was great to see him execute it on the pitch.”

Dunn is now aiming for a repeat performance at the Rec, with London Irish the visitors for the last game of the Club’s 2017/18 campaign. Bath will have to rely on other results to keep their Champions Cup hopes alive, but the 25-year-old admits the squad will be doing everything in their powers to secure a bonus-point victory.

“The five points are really important,” he added. “We started against Gloucester with a good rugby set piece, collision game and really physically, which is where we got our early momentum from. We need to start the same way against Irish on Saturday and if we do we’ll give ourselves a fighting chance.”
