Whilst Attwood was not reprimanded during Bath Rugby's match against Northampton Saints, he was cited post-match for an act contrary to World Rugby Law 9.12, striking or punching, on Saturday 22 October.

He has received a three-week ban and will miss the following games:

5 November v Newcastle Falcons
11 November v Leicester Tigers
20 November v Barbarians

Speaking to Northampton Saints' Fraser Dingwall after the match to apologise for his actions, Attwood said he is a better person than the way he acted and was very sorry for losing his cool.

Attwood spent the night apologising to his teammates, coaches and family and is sorry to have breached his commitment to maintaining good discipline.
