First up, Friday saw an England Saxons team captained by Dave Attwood run out at Bloemfontein for the first of a two-match series against South Africa 'A'. Attwood, joined by Club teammates Charlie Ewels in the second row and Semesa Rokoduguni on the wing, led the Saxons to a 24-32 victory.

Rokoduguni scored a scintillating effort for the second of four Saxons tries, with former Bath teammate Ollie Devoto also getting on the scoresheet.

On Saturday morning, Eddie Jones's England beat the Wallabies for only the fourth time in Australia, in what was their first ever win in Brisbane. Anthony Watson and Jonathan Joseph were on majestic form, with the latter improvising a fantastic try. George Ford then took to the field as a replacement, and it proved a shrewd move by Jones as the young fly-half put in a magnificent pass for Marland Yarde to score.

The 39-28 result is England's biggest points tally home or away against the Wallabies, equalling the 25-14 victory in Melbourne in June 2003 as their biggest margin of victory down under.

England U20, featuring three players who will be donning Blue, Black and White next season, remain unbeaten at the World Rugby Under 20 Championship after sealing a 44-0 bonus-point victory over Scotland at the Manchester City Academy Stadium.

Having opened their campaign by beating Italy they secured a second successive bonus-point win with a five-try victory. New Bath Rugby recruit Jack Walker was among the try-scorers, whilst the speed and awareness of Academy fullback Darren Atkins set up another, meaning head coach (and former Bath man) Martin Haag’s side have a perfect record in Pool B. Academy back rower Zach Mercer also featured from the bench.

In other Bath Rugby-related international news, flanker Francois Louw was on the wrong side of history in Cape Town on Saturday as Ireland notched up a first Test victory in South Africa - despite being down to 14 men for 57 minutes.

Wales's Taulupe Faletau, who joins Bath next season, impressed in a memorable Test match against New Zealand in Eden Park, scoring the first of his side's two tries. However, despite leading for an hour, Wales succumbed to a fierce All Blacks comeback to go down 39-21.

Tomorrow morning, Bath's Rhys Priestland starts at fly-half for Wales's midweek fixture against Super Rugby's Chiefs. New Club signing Luke Charteris will captain his country for the first time at FMG Stadium, in what will be his 67th international appearance.

Blue, Black and White supporters will be interested to note that former Club fly-half and 2011 World Cup winner Stephen Donald will captain the Chiefs.
