Following a strong first 40 minutes from Italy, which saw them go into the interval in the lead, England just had too much for Conor O'Shea's team as they came away 36-15 winners at Twickenham.

An early second half try from Danny Care was quickly followed by another from Elliot Daly minutes later. A superb delayed pass from Bath Rugby's George Ford gave Ben Te'o the simple task of sending Daly through to give England the advantage on the scoreboard.

Further tries from Te'o and two from replacement winger Jack Nowell maintained England's 100% start to the competition.

Scotland v Wales

Taulupe Faletau and Luke Charteris both entered the fold as second half replacements, but were unable to prevent Wales from slipping to a 29-13 defeat to Scotland at Murrayfield.

Wales started the second half 9-13 in front, but an inspired showing from Scotland saw the home side score 20 unanswered points to move to third in the table.

England U20 v Italy U20

Bath Rugby's Zach Mercer and Josh Bayliss played a crucial role in England's emphatic 46-0 triumph against Italy at the Northern Echo Arena.

Mercer led by example, as the captain found himself on the scoresheet once again for his country, fending off three tacklers to power his way over the tryline.

The number eight then turned provider as he released his Club teammate Bayliss on the left wing to score add another try to England's tally. Bayliss made it a quickfire double bundling his way over off the back of a driving maul.

An impressive 21 tries in their three opening matches will mean England will be full of confidence going into their next game against Scotland.

Scotland Women v Wales Women

Bath Rugby's Caryl Thomas featured as a replacement as Wales were denied victory in the closing moments against Scotland.

Leading 14-7 at the break, Scotland's Sarah Law kicked a penalty four minutes from time to snatch as last-gasp win at Broadwood Stadium.
