Front row duo Scott Kirk and Max Pearce, lock Eddie Erskine and wing Byron Lloyd-Gilmour have all come through the Blue, Black and White pathway while scrum-half Murdoch Lock was most recently in the Harlequins Academy.

Alongside their rugby, Kirk, Pearce, Erskine and Lloyd-Gilmour will study Sports Performance at the University of Bath while Lock will study Politics and International Relations.

“We are really pleased to welcome five talented players into the club,” Head of Academy Craig Lilley.

“All of them received excellent grades to get into the University of Bath and have trained well throughout pre-season. We look forward to working with them and developing their skills over the years to come.”

Scott Kirk, Prop

Scott attended Michaelhouse is South Africa before moving over to Bath midway through the 2021/22 season. He featured for the club’s Under-18s in the Academy League and produced some excellent performances. He is a dynamic, powerful young man who will develop his skills across the front row over the coming year.

Max Pearce, Hooker

Max was part of Millfield School’s undefeated side last season, starting most games in the number two jersey. He also performed well for Bath Rugby Under-18s, proving a leader within the squad and showcasing a high level at the set piece.

Eddie Erskine, Lock

Eddie was also part of the Millfield School team that went the whole season undefeated in 2021/22. An industrious lock, he has significantly developed over the past 12 months, showcasing his physicality around the field for Bath Rugby Under-18s, and will hone in on his line-out skills this year.

Byron Lloyd-Gilmour, Wing

A player with a great amount of athletic ability, Byron possesses electric pace as showcased for Marlborough College over the past few seasons. Fleet-footed, he has had some excellent moments for his school and also excelled for Bath Rugby Under-18s with his tryscoring ability.

Murdoch Lock, Scrum-half

Murdoch has been at Wellington College alongside his time in the Harlequins Academy. He was fantastic in the Academy League for Quins last season, and for Scotland Under-18s in the summer, and should he continue to apply himself well, he has a bright future in the game.
